Case Study

ShopBack

Push-notification CTR, lifted 43%

Marketing Executive March 2026 – May 2026
A/B Testing CRM Copywriting

01—Problem

Push-notification click-through rates sat at ShopBack's typical 0.7% baseline. The team needed a data-driven lift in engagement—without increasing send volume or annoying subscribers.

02—Approach

Systematic A/B testing on notification copy. The data consistently showed one variable mattered most: explicitly calling out the cashback rate in the notification title itself, rather than burying it in body text or a generic hook.

03—Result

Rewriting weekly consumer campaigns (including the Top Picks series) to lead with the specific cashback percentage lifted CTR from 0.7% to above 1%—and became a standing rule for future campaign copy.
